We develop a method for data-driven estimation and analysis of heterogeneity in cost-effectiveness analyses (CEA) with experimental or observational individual-level data. Our implementation uses causal forests and cross-fitted augmented inverse probability weighted learning to estimate heterogeneity in incremental outcomes, costs and net monetary benefits, as well as other parameters relevant to CEA. We also show how the results can be visualized in relevant ways for the analysis of heterogeneity in CEA, such as using individual-level cost effectiveness planes. Using a simulated dataset and an R package implementing our methods, we show how the approach can be used to estimate the average cost-effectiveness in the entire sample or in subpopulations, explore and analyze the heterogeneity in incremental outcomes, costs and net monetary benefits (and their determinants), and learn policy rules from the data.In this 30-year national review, we describe trends in DD transplantation for paediatric recipients, assess the impact of paediatric allocation bonuses and identify outstanding areas of need for this population.
A retrospective review of all DD kidney only transplants to paediatric recipients (&lt;18years old) in Australia between 1989 and 2018 was conducted using deidentified extracts from the ANZDATA.
Of the 1011 kidney only transplants performed in paediatric recipients during the study period, 426 (42%) were from deceased donors. Paediatric candidates on the DD waiting list had consistently higher rates of transplantation and shorter time from dialysis initiation to transplantation compared with adult candidates (median 372 vs 832days in 2018, for example). Donor characteristics remained more favourable for paediatric recipients, despite a decline in the overall quality of the donor pool. The mean number of HLA antigen mismatches for paediatric recipients of DD transplants increased each decade (2.86 [1989-1998], 3.85 [1999-2008], 4.01 [2009-2018]). Both patient and graft survival have improved for paediatric DD transplant recipients in the most recent era (5-year graft and patient survival 85% vs 65% and 99% vs 94%, respectively, for 2009-2018 vs 1999-2008).

Female Sprague-Dawley rats (n=31) were injected with streptozotocin (STZ) in order to induce Diabetes Mellitus. Animals that developed neuropathic pain after four?weeks (Von Frey) were implanted with a unilateral DRGS device at L4 (n=14). Animals were then stimulated for 30?min with Con-DRGS (20Hz, pulse width=0.2msec, amplitude=67% of motor threshold, n=8) or Sham-DRGS (n = 6), while pain behavior (von Frey) was measured. DRGs were then collected and immunostained for GABA,ABA immunofluorescence staining intensity in DRG sensory neurons of those animals which showed significant pain reduction. Similarly, no soma size related changes in intracellular GABA immunofluorescence were observed following Con-DRGS.Because most research about laypeople and genetic testing (GT) has been conducted in other nations than China, we conducted a study in urban China (a) to determine the perceived knowledge of, attitude toward, and use of GT there; (b) to identify influencing factors associated with the public's perceived knowledge, attitudes, and use of GT; and (c) to explore the relationship among public knowledge of, attitude toward, and use of GT. Our data came from a community-based survey in urban Dalian of 868 individuals. We used generalized ordered logit and logit models to examine factors associated with perceived knowledge of, attitude toward, and use of GT. We found that 67% of community members knew about GT, that 45% had a positive opinion of GT, and that only 4% accessed GT. Older people were more likely to have less perceived knowledge of GT and less likely to have a negative attitude toward it; these relationships were especially stronger among those aged ?60 years. We also found that socially disadvantaged people were more likely to have less perceived knowledge of GT and more likely to have a negative opinion of it.
